AMGEN TOUR OF CALIFORNIA 2009

What a thrill we had on Valentine's Day. As avid cycling fans, we couldn't have had anything sweeter happen than to have the world's premiere pro cyclists right here in our backyard. The Amgen Tour of California (the U.S.'s biggest cycling event) began with the prologue in Sacramento and we were there!

This is the closest Clyde is ever going to get to a $6,000 bicycle . . .

As far as we're concerned, you can forget Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. We got to see real celebities -- Craig Hummer, Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwin from Versus Channel, who cover all the great pro cycling events.

These guys go by REALLY fast and when the actual race started, we didn't want to miss a thing by spending our attention on trying to get pictures. We were at our chosen spot, which was right up at the rail, two hours early and were able to do our picture taking during the riders' warm ups. Only problem was, we didn't have a list of riders' numbers, in fact, most of them didn't even have their numbers in place yet, so we weren't always sure who we were seeing. But, they were all impressive and we clapped and yelled along with everyone else.

Congratulations to Sacramento. It did a stunning job of hosting this fabulous event. And, it was all free to the public.

We can be found in front of our big-screen TV for the next two weeks watching the rest of the tour.

Seems we're always taking the same pictures. Testament to how much we enjoy all the ordinary things we do together on those days that Sofia is with us. The difference in the pics, of course, is that our Sweet Sofia continues to grow and change.
