TREK TO THE TOWER CAFE

Yesterday, while Meredith and Clyde hopped on their bikes and road downtown to see "A Chorus Line", we got to spend the afternoon with Sofia. When we got to her house she was napping . . .
When she got up, we headed out on a walk to the Tower Cafe for snacks . . .

Waiting for french fries and milk . . .

Isn't this the cutest smile ever?

After her snack, Sofia asked to sit on my lap, which of course, I was happy to accommodate . . .
She stirred lemon into my tea for me . . .

Heading home . . .

Sofia was delightful, as always. She charmed the waiter and others we met along the way and she was polite and cheery. We had a perfect grandparenting visit. Thank you, Sofia, you are the light of our lives.

A SLEEPOVER

Mummy and Daddy treated themselves to their first outing away without Sofia since becoming parents, with a trip to Reno to see Elvis Costello perform. I'd say they deserved it. And we got our Sweet Sofia for her very first sleepover with us.

After a pasta lunch and a nap, we played for a while in the backyard. The day was too gorgeous not to take advantage of outdoor play in the pool with Sofia's new net and fishes . . .

. . . she caught them all, and then . . .

. . . sent them down the slide . . .
Papa and I wanted to go buy a clock we had previously seen at the mall, so after we dried off from the pool, we headed to The Galleria, a good excuse for a chocolate milk at Starbuck's and a romp at the playground. Unfortunately, I forgot the camera for documenting that part of our play date.
After the mall, we packed up a fruit salad and rolls and headed to the "lower flats", (a big grassy area of the school and trail behind our house) for a picnic . . .

We took our new ring-toss game . . .

. . . and our beachball . . .

Sofia took a bath, called her Mummy and Daddy in Reno to say "good night" and headed rather cheerfully off to bed.
This morning, Papa made us Mickey Mouse pancakes.

Yum.

Thank you for the lovely visit, Sofia. You are a delight!

MOTHER'S DAY

Here's what Mother's Day looked like at our house. Thank you, Meredith, Clyde and Sofia for the lovely gifts and the incredibly yummy dinner! Thank you, Honey, for the strawberry and cream waffles, mimosas, flowers and spoiling. And, Happy Mother's Day, Mom. I'm one lucky lady.
