It could be that we take the very same pictures every year. We so love this place and the time we spend here, we keep trying to capture it and bring it home with us.
This is Noyo Harbour where we sit, read and watch the fishing boats go in and out. There are little dingies, medium size sport fishing boats, moderate size commercial boats and a select few like this big, goreous one, The Miss Kelly . . .
When Clyde and Elizabeth's Dad retired from the mill, he was given the old mechanical Seth Thomas time clock. Clyde and I have had it in our home for many years, and thought that since there is a lumber mill museum in Fort Bragg, it made more sense for it to reside there. After having had several communications with the curator of the museum before we headed up to Fort Bragg this year, in which he expressed quite a lot of enthusiasm for the idea, we donated the time clock to the museum.. When Elizabeth came to visit us, Clyde took her there to share it with her . .
Our sweet little Dylan loves the Medocino Coast Botanical Gardens and he goes with us on all our walks there . . .
. . . and picnics . . .
Fort Bragg has a handmade ice cream shop that has an annex in the gardens. The real reason Dylan loves the gardens, is because the Cowlicks ice cream shop gives dogs a free cup of vanilla ice cream, just for the asking . . .
Every year we invite (beg) our dearest, bestest friends Darlene & Jon to come stay a few days at Pomo Campground with us. We take walks . . .
. . . visit the local Pacific Star Winery . . .
Northcoast Brewery . . .
Cook for each other . . .
Play extreme bocce ball . . .
And enjoy each other's company . . .
A scene from the beautiful Menocino Coast Botanical Gardens . . .
The view from one of our favorite walks . . .
Heron's Restaurant in Noyo Harbour . . .
Reading in the great outdoors . . .
Hanging out in our trailer . . .
A family of deer we see every night on our way out to the bluff to watch the sunset . . .
One of the many pelican visitors to Noyo Harbour . . .Clyde and Meredith have visited us in the past, but this was the first year we were able to share some of our favorite places with our Sofia . . .
I think she agreed with our assessment of what a great vacation spot this is . . .
Big River empties into the ocean at this beach. A good place for building sand castles and feeling the wind in your face . . .
. . . and walking along the river . . .
We came to Fort Bragg many times when Clyde, III was a kid and this restaurant, The Wharf, was always his favorite. We just had to take Meredith and Sofia there as well . . .
We enjoyed times around a cozy fire . . .
. . . and playing at the trailer . . .
. . . and Sofia made us smores . . .
Sofia crashed in her sleeping bag, while her Mummy, Daddy, Papa and Geema played card and dice games at the table right across from her . . .
Pudding Creek enters the ocean at this lovely beach, where you can play in the river, or in the ocean or the sand. What a great spot . . .
We treated to dinner out and Clyde and Meredith treated to dinner in. No restaurant can match the gourmet treats that our kids whip up for us . . .
Sofia brought her bike with her to camp and we took a stroll around . . .
The morning of Meredith, Clyde & Sofia's last day with us, the sun shone bright and made a last visit to Pudding Creek a must . . .
Greetings from Fort Bragg. We hope we get the chance to post all these same pictures again next year!
