CHRISTMAS BAKING WITH MOM

As you can see, I haven't had much time for posting to my blog.  We had a wonderful Christmas time filled with activity.

Mom, Clyde and I baked cookies together one day to give to friends.  We made Scottish Shortbread and Lebkuchens -- both recipes passed down by Mom from her mom . . .

Shortbread ready for the oven.  Mom makes her's cookie-shaped and I do mine in cakes, the way my Grandma did . . .
Lebkuchens ready to pack (and eat).  They're dark, because they're sweetened with molasses . . .
Packing production line set up and ready . . .
Done.  Resting on our new furniture.  One love seat and the ottoman our Christmas present from Mom -- thank you, Mom.  The other love seat a gift to ourselves.
A fun and yummy time.
